About
Starkey DeSoto is an partner in the firm’s Miami office. Mr. DeSoto came to the firm with significant experience in all aspects of construction law. In his practice, Mr. DeSoto represents owners, developers, general contractors, subcontractors, sureties, design professionals, suppliers, and manufacturers. While a large portion of his practice involves construction defect disputes and representation of clients throughout the statutory “Notice and Opportunity to Repair” procedures provided under Florida law, Mr. DeSoto also represents clients in construction lien matters, payment and performance bond disputes, bid protests, OSHA Defense, and enforcement or defense of non-compete provisions.

Prior to joining the firm, Mr. DeSoto spent several years practicing at a well-known boutique construction law firm in Fort Lauderdale, and additionally worked with a small firm practicing in state and federal courts assisting clients with business and commercial disputes. Before being admitted to the bar, Mr. DeSoto served as a judicial intern for former Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court Ricky Polston.
