Professional Experience

Lauren Amberson is an associate in the firm’s Miami office. She focuses her practice in the areas of government liability and complex commercial litigation. Prior to joining Lydecker Diaz, Ms. Amberson practiced criminal defense as an attorney with the Miami-Dade Public Defender’s Office, where she gained significant litigation and trial experience. As an Assistant Public Defender, Ms. Amberson managed a high volume caseload through all stages of litigation including depositions, motion practice, and jury trials.

Ms. Amberson was born and raised in Pensacola, Florida and later attended the University of Central Florida in Orlando, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She then went on to earn her J.D. from Cardozo School of Law in New York City. While attending Cardozo, Ms. Amberson advocated for wrongfully imprisoned clients as a clinic student with The Innocence Project. She also gained significant research and writing experience as a Staff Editor on Cardozo’s Journal of Law and Gender. Prior to and during law school, Ms. Amberson also completed internships at civil law firms, focusing on the areas of personal injury and transactional litigation.
