Educational Background
Mr. Potts graduated from the University of Miami where he earned a B. A. Degree of Science in Business Administration in 2005. He earned his
Masters in Business Administration from Florida International University Chapman School of Business, graduating with honors in 2006. Mr. Potts
earned his Juris Doctorate from Florida International University College of Law in 2010. During his academic career, he was a member of the
Appellate Advocacy Moot Court team and competed in various competitions, winning accolades for his supberb brief writing and oral advocacy skills.
He was the President of the Board of Advocates, the Vice-President of Negotiations and is the Alumni Chair of Phi Alpha Delta. He completed
International law courses in Sevilla, Spain at La Universidad de Sevilla. Mr. Potts was a judicial intern for the Honorable Frank Shepherd at the
Third District Court of Appeal. Mr. Potts was a Florida Bar Foundation Summer Fellowship Recipient and was a summer associate at Florida Legal
Services of Miami in 2009.
Professional Experience
Roland Potts is an associate in the firm’s Miami office. Mr. Potts practices general civil litigation, with an emphasis in complex litigation and
transactional matters. Mr. Potts also practices in the area of real estate transactions, with a focus on commercial property and multi-million
dollar residential transactions. His practice areas also include labor & employment, professional liability, class action defense, contract
liability, premises liability, government liability, constitutional law and civil rights litigation. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Potts was
a tax associate at AFO, LLC where he focused on the legal implications of several tax advantage vehicles for various trusts. Mr. Potts is also
a licensed Real Estate Agent for ten years.
