Professional Experience
Ms. Huey was admitted to practice in 1979, and throughout her career has engaged in the litigation of disputes in the state and federal courts of Florida and, from 1989 to 2001, in Texas, where she remains an inactive member of the State Bar of Texas. Putting her clients’ needs first and foremost while adhering to the highest ethical standards is a hallmark of Ms. Huey’s representation. Her zealous advocacy, knowledge of the law, and ethical conduct earned her an AV ® rating by Martindale Hubbell in 1996. Ms. Huey’s Florida practice has included representation of plaintiffs in Title VII and wage and hour litigation, representation of owners in significant construction and commercial landlord tenant cases, representation of trustees and creditors in adversary bankruptcy proceedings, and representation of Fortune 500 companies in a wide variety of matters, including resistance of class certification and resolution of multiparty conflicts involving the real estate development. In the course of her work as a solo and small firm practitioner, Ms. Huey was engaged in high conflict probate and family law matters, and remains committed to assisting clients in these areas should the need arise. Ms. Huey has successfully handled appeals of matters affecting her clients in the Third and Fifth District Courts of Appeal.

Significant Representations & Experience
Due to her efforts in Fruh v. Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services, 430 So. 2d 581 (Fla. 5th DCA 1983), the Rules of Juvenile Procedure were amended to require good cause before requiring a parent of a dependent child to undergo a psychological evaluation. Ms. Huey also successfully defended a trial court’s ruling on behalf of a purchaser of a commercial shopping center at a foreclosure sale in Agero v. Pheonix Holding, LLC, 920 So.2d 703 (Fla. 3d DCA 2006). Most recently, Ms. Huey’s client prevailed in an appeal involving choice of venue in Hudson Security Group, Inc. v. PCG Security Int’l in an opinion released on February 16, 2011 by the Third District Court of Appeal.

At the trial level in Florida, Ms. Huey’s clients have included domestic and foreign companies involved in complex contractual and jurisdictional disputes in the state and federal courts. With partner, Carla Barrow, Ms. Huey represented the owner in a difficult construction dispute involving termination of the contractor of a $100 million project and overseeing the replacement contractor and working with a myriad of expert witnesses in the construction area.
