Professional Experience
Christopher G. Berga is a partner in the firm’s Miami office. Mr. Berga practices in the areas of complex commercial litigation, creditors’ rights, insurance insolvency and construction litigation. He represents various corporations and governmental entities in complex commercial matters in both state and federal courts including contract disputes, insurance insolvency, lien enforcement, fraudulent transfer actions, construction claims, commercial landlord/tenant and collection matters. Mr. Berga also has extensive experience in contract negotiation and disputes involving the hospitality industry.

Significant Representations
• Assist the Florida Department of Financial Services regarding billion dollar insurance insolvency dealing with multiple actions of
recovery against principals and professionals for fraud, corporate malfeasance, fraudulent transfers, alter ego, and malpractice
claims
• Represent various subcontractors in all facets of business including contract negotiation, lien enforcement, collection and
construction defect claims
• Represented White Mountains Insurance Company regarding agent licensing issues resulting in the successful approval of
surplus lines application
• Successfully represented multi-national tire wholesaler in cross-border ownership dispute resulting in the ouster of domestic
partners who were engaged in financial malfeasance and misappropriation of company funds
• Successfully defended a Miami shipping and logistics company by achieving a dismissal of New York Federal lawsuit based on
lack of personal jurisdiction
• Assistant counsel to Florida Department of Financial Services in rehabilitation of worker’s compensation insurance company.
Recovered more than $1M through judgment enforcement by garnishment and levy on corporate defendant’s corporate
headquarters
• Counsel to major hospitality operators regarding construction defect claims, collections and standardization of hospitality
contracts including group bookings, lodging and major events.
• Assisted in the liquidation of $100M wholesaler including investigation and recovery of more than $4M in preferential transfers
• Represented municipal contract provider in recover of wrongfully withheld bond proceeds and corresponding action against
municipality for unpaid contract fees
